State Departments of Education Licensing and Certification Websites

American College of Education offers a wide variety of programs and program sequences that are state approved to lead to licensure eligibility or addition of certain content areas to an existing license. You may find that specific information here.

Graduates interested in pursuing licensure in states other than where ACE is state approved may be able to receive teacher or principal licensure or endorsement, if that state is a participant in the NASDETC Interstate Agreement, or by applying as a graduate of an HLC or CAEP accredited program*.

Please note: ACE is accredited by the Higher learning Commission (HLC) and offers teacher and administrative educator preparation programs that are also accredited by the Council for the Accreditation of Educational Preparation (CAEP).

Students are strongly encouraged to check licensure requirements in the state in which they live or work to determine whether they are eligible for licensure, endorsement, or certification**.

*Graduates of licensure programs offered by American College of Education who seek licensure in states other than Indiana or where directly approved may still need to satisfy additional state licensure requirements such as years of experience in a prior or current position, additional coursework, internship hours, content test passage, or additional training such as CPR certification as applicable.

**While ACE makes every reasonable effort to remain abreast of state licensure or upgrade requirements, the College neither implies nor guarantees that the completion of an ACE degree or certificate program will result in eligibility for licensure, certification, endorsement, salary increase, certificate content/level upgrade or related employment benefit in any state. Prospective students are strongly advised to confirm the benefit(s) for which they may be eligible upon completion with their state’s licensure agency or Department of Education prior to enrolling in an American College of Education degree or certificate program.
